Young People from Ramalde Explore Tenderness as Resistance in “Radical Tenderness Occupation”
A sound and movement performance born from an artistic residency with PELE and the Casa de Juventude do Viso
In a world marked by speed, restlessness, and chaos, a group of young people from the Casa de Juventude do Viso in Ramalde present “Radical Tenderness Occupation”, an artistic project developed in collaboration with the collective PELE.
The performance takes place on Saturday, November 15, at 4:00 p.m., at Escola Padre Américo, with free admissionand a recommended age of 6 and up.
During an artistic residency, the participants investigated tenderness as a form of resistance. Through sound and movement, they explored what happens when tenderness is practiced collectively — when time is set aside to truly listen, to feel, and to care for one another.
The result is a performance that transforms space into a territory of affection, attention, and imagination.
“Radical Tenderness Occupation” invites reflection on human interdependence and on vulnerability as a space for connection.
At a time when attentive listening and meaningful encounters are increasingly rare, the project asks: can tenderness be a form of protest?
A way to propose a radically different reality — one grounded in connection, care, and dedication?
The work culminates in a 45-minute performance, where bodies occupy space with gestures of care and presence, inviting the audience to join in an experience of proximity and listening.
